The sad part is the inclusion of hybrid power, shows you where it's going.
It like the 2.7 truck motor ....... in a truck |

The new 2.7 turbo 4 cylinder is an easy replacement for the V6.

Don't kill the 6 for some crappy 4 cylinder. Slap the twin turbo 6 in for an extra Four G's that would be money well spent

$4k for an extra 90 HP on the hybrid V8 really isn't bad.

About time they killed the V6. With the 4 turbo, that engine has become completely irrelevant. I’m all for a hybrid V8 though! If they can find a way to get the electric motors to power the front wheels, without going midengine, then that would be incredible.

They need to worry about 2019 front bumper options.

I'd be happy with the 2.7 turbo!

Why too funny how you are receiving the surveys and I am not. I have spent over 250k in 3 years on GM vehicles.

Do you live is some kind of an alternate universe where every 4 cylinder ever built is made by Yugo or Lada? I don't think I've read anything dumber today, yesterday, or maybe even a few months for that matter. At least not on this forum.

I know it's heresy but if that 4 cylinder hybrid is a plug-in that can run off purely electric power when needed, that sounds pretty attractive.
The v8 hybrid doesn't sound like a good deal to me and it'd only make the car already way more expensive when sales might be hurting due to price as-is. I think the v8 should be left alone and offered as an alternative to the 4 cylinder hybrid. Ie: You'd pay the same price for a hybrid 4 or natural v8. Perks of the former are fuel economy. Perks of the latter are probably better sound and 0.4 seconds faster. I think people would naturally gravitate to what they want and you'd capture a good cross-section of the performance market by offering both and keeping it within a reasonable price. And then, if it turned out sales of the hybrid were way higher than expected, offer the hybrid v8 in a future model year and see what the demand is. You'd have to tread carefully because this encroaches on ZL1 territory performance-wise, unless they would plan to offer it in the ZL1 and phase out the supercharged v8.
