TMPS Readings are Reversed L/R. Can anyone Help?

Hey guys - haven't had a chance to post much here.

I tend to rely a lot on the car's built-in TPMS readings on the panel, which I have confirmed are decently accurate on my car (same with Corvette and Jeep). It's handy on track to see how increases in pressure impact handling, etc.

Here is the problem...

After all the frequent tire changes/rotations, as currently mounted, my TPMS is reading the tires on the left of the car and displaying on right side, and vice versa. On all other modern cars the sensors automatically adjust to the new wheel positions quite quickly. But on my Camaro (2018 SS 1LE) they seem to be stuck. On older cars I have used a learning tool to trigger re-learn, but haven't needed in a while.

(I know I can flip the tires position back, but I tend to flip them based on wear and next main track direction - clockwise vs counter clockwise - so prefer not to be forced into it)

Questions:
1 - Has anyone else observed this?
2 - Is there a relearn/reset procedure that I should try?

Thanks in advance for the help.

go to dealer have them reset it ...most tire shops can do this also and they should be resetting them after they rotate em but most dont!

You can also buy the TPMS learning tool and relearn them yourself. its pretty simple.

I use this tool ever time I rotate tires (L to R) works great. See page 298 of the 2018 owners manual for the process

Baron95 where in New England are you? I am in Central New Hampshire and have a tpms tool and could reset them for you if you want.

I was going to say drive everywhere in reverse, but that would make me an internet smart ass.

The TPMS tool is the way to go: $20, five minutes, and your done.

I'm in CT. But thanks. I move the tires/wheels around so much, that if a tool is required it makes more sense for me to buy it.

Bizarre, I thought that by now all cars would auto learn the new wheel position.

Is this a GM or C6 thing?

im probably outdated here but almost all cars I know of has to have the new positions relearned. As far as I know there is only one TPMS signal receiver that reads the serial numbers of each sensor but you have to tell it which sensor is located where by way of the relearn process.

Well, my experience from Jaguars to Jeeps that I have owned in the past decade, both of which I not only swapped tire position (rotation) but also switched to different tire packages with brand new sensors, they auto learned the new positions by just driving around.

The last car I owned that required the re-learning tool was a 2012 Mustang GT.

But it is cool, so long as I know, I'll be sure to use the tool.
