Thanks guys.

With the whole ZLE allocations up in the air I think right now 2022 are the sweet spot. Maybe in a year or two it will be 2023.

Congrats on the new ride. Can’t believe that dealer inventory but they are getting good money for them.

Enjoy!

I'll be there this Thursday at the Ciocca event giving some Vettes that good Ol' Camaro work!

As far as mods go, I'm going to go a little bit more conservative.

ARH 1-7/8" x 3" (plus Tune) - Headers all the way to the muffler with High Flow Cats. Muffler will probably be Corsa Extreme or the stock Suitcase for the aero benefits. I have the stock muffler from my trade in. So, I won't have to hack up the exhaust on the new car.

Rotofab Cold Air Intake with Dry Filter - I ordered already and it should be here tomorrow.

Flex Fuel Sensor - Either DSX or just the standard GM kit. Undecided.

I won't be putting the BMR suspension bits on again. I don't feel they improved it much over stock as far as lap times. The stock units are adequate, albeit a tad ugly. I'm fine with that and they are cheap to replace. The only BMR bit worth it in my opinion are the toe rods. The strut tower brace was just for bling.

RSR Roll Cage. I like this one because it only mounts to the chassis underneath the rear bench. I won't have to cut up the interior panels like I did on the white car to install the Harness bar.

This will pretty much be it.

Beautifully menacing Camaro. I purchased my regular ZL1 from this dealership a couple months ago as well. Coming from a 13 ZL1 thought that was a decent upgrade.

So quick update on the car....

Got out to an open track day at NJMP Thunderbolt and a HPDE event at Lightning the very next day. Just under 400 miles of track thrashing.

The engine was very tight.... like a virgin initially. The stick shift too. The car lacked about 7-9mph down Thunderbolts front straight and the car also scrubbed off speed very fast. Best time of 1:31 at Thunderbolt and 1:13 at Lightning. Still among the fastest of attenders at the events but definitely there's some room grow.

Got the cold air intake installed at 4am before heading out to the track

My fastest time in a stock-ish ZLE is 1:29.28. I think the car had a CAI and a E40 tune tho. I can definitely hit that again with half a tank of gas when the motor opens up more. I need to hold more speed through turn 3 and wait for the downshift to 3rd gear after completing turn 4.

Oh and uh, this monster was there running 1:26s along with Joe Aquilante in his Corvette

Honorable mention for this $250k Gazoo Racing Supra running 1:24s on Yokohama Advan A052

Here's a session on Lightning. These were not my fastest laps. My fastest laps came the next session out where I dropped 3 seconds but that video is being edited.

One thing I will say.... and maybe it's just me.... The car does NOT feel well to me on 18" wheels with Hoosier 315/335-30-18. The car feels very unstable in high speed turns. The tires tend to rotate on the rims and I was getting nasty vibration under braking. It really killed my confidence. Throwing the stock Rims with 3Rs on was an instant improvement and I immediately dropped time. If I do run Hoosier's again it will be in 19" sizes. For the 18" Apex rims I will stick to Pirelli Scrubs or Hankook slicks. Best time on the A7 with 10 heat cycles was 1:14.5 -- Best time on the 3R with 170 track miles was 1:13.6 . I honestly don't think the Hoosiers like heavier cars.

Sorry, no action pics of the Red Hot because .... no photog.

This reminds me of several ZL1s here that had issues with air pockets in the supercharger coolant circuit from the factory. Once the loop was properly burped (and often adding a small coolant expansion tank), these LT4s regained their full strength.

That's interesting. I'll look into it.

The lower reservoir is near empty and most of the fluid is in the upper reservoir. I never changed it. In my last car, usually there would be fluid in both, with the majority in the upper reservoir.
