Yeah I’m in Jacksonville and we live on the water and the car is in a garage. Hopefully no serious flooding occurs but if it happens, that’s what insurance is for.

Hurricane proof. I was in Pass Christian MS when Camille hit, and Fairhope AL when Fredrick hit. If a Cat 5 with 200+ mph winds and a 20 ft storm surge hits, hurricane proof doesn't exist.

Looks like this one may slide by you.

Obviously no place in South Florida with a cat 5 is “hurricane proof” .....that’s just the terminology they use down here when they built to the new codes after Andrew. Right now it’s 185, with gusts up to 225 in the abacos, nothing lasts at those speeds.

Good blog for the Track:

Trouble is we still don't know where it will come inland. As it is now it is due east of us. We are in Port St Lucie. I will cover my car with pillows and a car cover in the garage and back it up to the garage door to prevent it from blowing in. Hurricane shutters are pulled across the windows/doors now and any light items moved into the garage. I have a portable generator and four 5 gal cans of gas. We are as ready as can be.

I'm in Ft. Myers area and when Irma passed overhead just 3 days short of 2 years ago, mine was in the airport garage. My street flooded and my garage only got 1 in. of water. Golf course behind my house closed the storm drains on their end, causing the flood we found out later. Many lawsuits.
Took a full 6 days for the water to recede to be able to drive out for all of us on that street.
