Yep that's how they tested them back then. Either modulate the throttle to manage traction or just stomp it. Either way it eats up valuable E/Ts. So wnen a Honda civic driver looks at the vintage stats they pump up their chest and think their Hondas are so much faster. Imagine if you add a modern 6speed or 10 speed auto in that Mustang and Camaro. Both would probably be in high 12s with traction.
