SS Supercharging Potential

Was curious what everyone thought about the power potential from the LT1. Mustang GT can handle 700-750 flywheel no problem. From what I can scrape up on the LT1, I can't see why that wouldn't be possible for it too. However, seems like most street legal kits for the stingray are less than 700. Thoughts?

I am wondering the same thing too. Maggy is on my immediate todo list for the SS. But I am starting to think maybe a centrifical might be a better option incase i need warranty work done. Pain in the ass, but atleast I can gear it back down to stock if it if a major problem arrises. I am affraid to break 650 crank horse under warranty.

A 5.0 supercharger kit is not doing 700 out of the box. Superchargers add 100-140 at their as shipped boost level.

Keep in mind the Corvette has much less room for a SC and still fit under the stock hood. Thus, any SC for the Vette has to be a low profile unit.

I think a procharger i-3, a good cam for your needs, cat deletes and some valve springs you should be able to make in between 150 and 300 hp, that puts you between 600 and 750 for around 5k

This is on point except the price will be about double depending on boltons, labor and tuning. Hell the blower kit is probably gonna be more than 5k.

Sorry, thats no labor and dyno time, just parts and a typical supercharger. I agree with the injectors upgrade and i was thinking that would be if i did it myself which i plan on doing down the road. First I am going to have fun with the approx. 455hp.

Check out the whipple kit. 725-775 flywheel and going to be CARB legal shortly. optional warranty available too. Plenty of tuner kits will make that too and I suspect there will be a roush phase 2 released soon that will make that and may be CARB legal.

Some of us here actually know how to work on cars with professional quality. I don't have to pay someone to install simple parts. The only thing I paid for in any of my vehicles has been the tune and that only cost me $100 because I am good friends with a friend that tunes via HP tuners and has a dyno in his garage and is certified to use a dyno.

So no one really has to suck any D, just have to know more than just pushing papers in an office.

OK but show me where you can get a cam, a supercharger kit and a tune without a "hook up" for 5k. I'll wait.....
