My stock tires flat spotted after 4 months of storage. I have tire cradles. And new tires.

My garage is sorta climate controlled, but not fully. I have had corvettes with runs flats, and now 4 camaros all with stock tires. Never had a flat spot that I am aware of. Honestly never heard of a flat spot protector before this.

My cars are not DD drivers, so they do sit quite a bit.

It takes a lot longer than a few 100 feet

But the suspension is still hanging. I think it is meant the springs are not compressed and linkages are at their limits.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Just inflate to 50PSI when stored for long periods

So, I have stored my Gen5 Camaro for 9 winters now. Just parked it in the cold but above freezing garage and boosted the pressure to 40 psi.

The original PZero summer tires developed flat spots that went away after maybe 100 yards. This only happened the first two years. After that, heat cycling had hardened the rubber beyond flat spotting. These tires lasted about 40,000 miles and always wore evenly and ran smoothly.

After that, I got all-season tires. These have not flat spotted at all. My takeaway: tire cradles or what have you are a solution to a non-problem.

I have heard that leaving the suspension unloaded for months is not good, but have no experience to back that up.

My advice for storage: battery tender, sta-bil, and professional rodent control.

South TX it is only cold for maybe 3 days straight at a time. Temp will go from 30 degrees to 70 with sunshine from week to week.

I've been storing multiple cars for years... ...best thing to prevent flat spots is 40 - 45psi during storage depending on the tire (I usually go 10 psi above cold specification).

I just replaced my tires and they were only $1200. Installed same brand.
