Upper pulley no tune.

Just picked up a 2018 ctsv. I have a griptec 2.3 pully sitting on the shelf. Weapon x website says moving from the stock 2.5 pulley to a 2.3 and keeping lower the same results in a 8.70% increase in flow. I was mainly gonna use it for slippage, think I would need a tune for that small of a change?

I am going to go against the internet tidal wave of bad info, and say DO NOT CHANGE YOUR PULLEY.

A. You don't have a slip problem.

B. intercooler bricks are stressed already with cooling.

C. More boost will make the engine more KNOCK LIMITED.

There are a lot of better ways to improve performance via Efficiency.

Start with a tune if you are on a budget because there is more in the tune than the pulley, and you won't make your engine more KNOCK limited like a pulley will.

Ted.

Jannettyracing. Please explain the stress on the brick? Is it physical stress or cooling stress? I looked for aftermarket ones but holy shit are they expensive. In and my car is a 2018 CTSV not sure if they have different bricks

Cooling, Each LB of boost makes about 11 degree of additional heat added to Ambient air temp.

That number varies with blower speed when you get outside the efficiency range that number can climb to 20 degrees per lb.

There is far more performance to be gained with our 125 RWHP upgrade package or any part there of.

Do the Cadillac guys even discuss performance modifications ? I thought they’d be talking about how many golf bags fit in the trunk?

Belt slip isn't an issue in the LT4. I think it's a good way to make your car run worse.

And yeah CTS-Vs are great rides! For a giddyup sedan they are hard to beat.
