How'd you make out, 3 SS's? I think the wheels get dropped when an additional change is made sometime after they have been added to the RS Package. That may be why SScattergunSS hasn't had a problem. And like I said in the OP, the order manager was reluctant to go into Quickorder because that's not the way it's typically done, but it was the ONLY way to get the change accepted.[/QUOTE]

pulled the workbench order and all's good,I'm at event code 2051
and still showing the RS and polished aluminum.
He also showed me what I think was his consensus report and the order is in a column under a date of 4/9.
It was a sheet that had different models, quantities, and dates....nothings been changed on this order since early Feb, so maybe that's why it's ok... I hope.

You're lucky. At 2051 the order's already been accepted for production and too late for any changes.

Rod responded to this, but I want to add to make sure it is clear for you. If you order the RS package, you get the Midnight wheels as part of the package. However, you can add the polished wheels (Q9J) and have them replace the midnight ones. If you do that, you need to make sure that nothing else gets messed up with your order. Some people have been having troubles (like the RS package gets removed).

Sorry man, but You are wrong, 2051 just means the order was changed through the Web. Mine has been at 2051 since early February... it hasn't been accepted for production yet. I think it has to be preferenced (2500) Before you can't make any more changes.

Quote:
1100 = Preliminary Order (Order passed GM edit tables but dealers has not received allocation to place order)
2000 = Accepted By GM (Dealer used allocation to place order into production)
2500 = Preferenced (Order pulled to the production system)
3000 = Accepted By Production Control (Order input into the production system)
3100 = Sequenced (Order sequenced for Production)
3300 = Scheduled For Production (Order is scheduled into the plant build cycle)
3400 = Broadcast (Order is sent to various build & supplier areas to bring order together)
3800 = Produced (Order is built and VIN# shows in the Dealer Order system now)
4150 = Invoiced (Order is invoiced to the dealer)
4200 = Shipped (Vehicle is shipped to the dealer or point of delivery)
5000 = Delivered To Dealer
6000 = Delivered To Customer

I THINK it was RPO-z28 said 3000 was the end of changes. If not him it
was another dealer.

When you say "brighter" do you mean the sterling silver wheels( that is
standered on ss models. Or do you mean the polished aluminum that's
an upgrade to ss or ss/rs. Just making sure because the standered wheel
on the SS is fairly bright, just not as shiny as the polished.

I know it is no later than that, I thought my delarer told me it would be whne it reaches 2500, but he may be wrong...
I know it isn't 2051 for sure though..

Thank you "in a Hurry", Camaropete" and "Rodrunner" for your responses - that is a big relief to know. I will go to my dealer tomorrow and make sure i get the SS/RS with the Q9J wheels. I just don't think the Midnight silver looks that great on my IOM. I have the VZN wheels on order but i just can't find an outdoor photo of these wheels to see just how bright they(VZN) are. So if the VZN wheels don't kick ass I'll at least i'll have a choice of wheels when it gets here.

I was wrong??? Well, there's a first time for everything.

Honestly, when I typed that, I was questioning if I was right. My very bad. Thanks, Skyman!

My dealer has told me all along that as far as they know the only way to make changes to an order that is a "Preorder" would be to delete the order and add it again. They even showed me the screen on their computer. I have taken the approach sence then that there is no hurry to make any changes until my pre-order goes to order status. I am hoping that happens in a couple of weeks!

What's up, buddy? Well all I can tell you is that, from what I read here from a dealer, the only way to add the Polished Aluminum Wheels to an order without cancelling it first, is to use Quickorder. My order manager was reluctant to do it that way, saying it's not the usual method, but it was the only way he could get the system to accept the change with the RS Package selected.
At this point, after March 16th, you definitely don't want to cancel your order, but don't wait too long and miss the opportunity.

Update - I was just barely able to get this fixed in time today. They were ready to pull my order. That was a close call.

MORE WAITING. :(

^^^Isn't it a great system, Mark? Which evokes the question - Where would we all be without Camaro5?
