My L99 is FAST

Ok, I couldn't take it any longer. I had to see if my car is as quick as it "feels" it is. So I borrowed a Beltronics Vector FX1 (FX2 is newer model) Performance Timer (2-axis digital accelerometer) from a friend.
Temp. was 78 degs....humidity 63%....I made two passes

First pass:
0-60 4.85s
1/4 mi. 13.30 @ 105.8mph

Second pass:
0-60 4.80s
1/4 mi. 13.25 @ 106.3mph

Slight tire slip off the line, but not enough to hear a squeal, not even a chirp in second. This bad boy hooks up amazingly! Consistent shifts in M mode at 58-5900rpm.
Only thing I've done is replace the mufflers with straight pipe, at which time the battery was disconnected.

How did you go about breaking in your car? did you wait before you started giving it much gas? or were you on it like a bat out of hell right out the lot?

Thanks

Grant

Very nice... Try traction control for the slip... I noticed no time difference with it on or off unless I got wheel spin.... Post up your slip in the 1/4 mile time thread...

I think it is...

There's actually a iTouch/iPhone App called Dynolicious that is capable of doing a 1/4mile and skidpad test. It's a heck of a lot cheaper than a dedicated tool and according to a few testers, just as accurate and easier to use.

Here's the official Site for Dynolicious

Here's a write up with pics of the App!

I hate to spend money like that on a phone, however those features might just change my mind. Too bad I have a beater SUV and a sedan as rides to test these on, lol.

Against all suggestions from friends more knowledgeable than myself, I never ran it hard (above 3000-3500rpm) until after about 550 miles. Doubt that has much if anything to do with the times, just my old school thinking.

What's up, mlee? You know a buddy at work asked me this morning if I had traction control on or off. I had completely forgotten about it, so it was on during my passes. And I'd bet money the "slight tire slip" I thought I was feeling off the line was the traction control working. You know I now have to go back out and try it with it off, just in case I could run even quicker.
There's a 1/4 mile time thread? I gotta get on site more often. No slip to post....guess I could take a pic of the Beltronics display though.

I don't know what the g-tech is. The iPhone must use the built-in accel that senses horizontal/vertical screen positioning. It may very well be quite accurate, but I have to question the accuracy of a device made just to sense a 90deg. swing in force/position. And remember, radz, you just don't need one YET!!!

Awesome times. I'd ne willing to bet that when you do it without tc on, you get slower times. Check it out and let us know.

iPhone is accurate enough. I've tested it and so have others. The horse power and Gs I couldn't care less about.
