ZL1 1LE All-Season Wheel Fitment

Hello all!

First post from a long time lurker. I have tried searching but can't find an answer to this question. Thanks to everyone for responses in advance!

Will standard size SS 1LE/ZL1 wheels (20X10" Front +20 offset and 20X11" Rear +43 offset) fit on a ZL1 1LE with no modifications?

As all-season tires are unavailable in ZL1 1LE sizes I thought the next best option would be the standard ZL1 sizes. It looks like this might throw the speedometer off by about 5%; does this seem accurate?

I run 275 or 285 wide snow tires, so finding similar all-season should not be a challenge, may just need narrower wheels.. or stretch tire a bit.

On the OE 1LE and ZL1 wheels you can run a 275/35 fr and 285/35 Rear and they fit and work perfectly well, speedo is off by ~1mph. I use a winter performance tire instead of an A/S as I wanted a little more snow capability, I've run the Alpin PA4 and I'm extremely pleased with it.

Yes, the SS 1LE wheels or ZL1 wheels will fit your ZLE. The OE rear tire size for those is 305/30/20, and it's only 1.9% taller than you ZLE tires. So that's how much it will throw the speedometer off. That is not very much.

Hey, I just noticed that you're almost my neighbor (I live by Cottleville). I have a set of OE SS 1LE rolling stock you're welcome to try on the car if you want to see how it looks/fits.

Also, I'm going to hijack your thread to invite you to come out to our local SCCA autocross events. Our next one is 10/30. We have another ZLE that regularly attends, but two would be better! Take a look at our web site for more info, and feel free to PM me with any questions.

Thanks again to everyone for the replies.

I appreciate the offer to try your wheels on as well as the invite to the autocross. The ZLE was ordered this past weekend but I will check the website out for future events (current all-seasons will be going on SS 1LE before 10/30 and not sure I want to do what would be my first autocross on them).

The confirmation that I'll be able to reuse existing wheels in the OE size for all-season needs and it will throw the speedometer off by less than I thought is really helpful.

It depends on what exact kind of tires they are. A few all-seasons are just fine for autocross use. But if you have separate sets of wheels and tires, just wait until after 10/30 to put the all-season set on. OTOH, if you are having to dismount your summer tires and install all-seasons on the same wheels, then I get it...and it sounds like you'll be having a second set of wheels for the ZLE so as to avoid this hassle in the future.

For a true street, "all-season" setup, you'll be better off with smaller width tires than OE on the ZL1 1LE. Why? NVH, wet performance and snow performance will be better with slimmer tires. Not to mention, will cost less. Something 275, 285, OR 295 square or a stagger setup with 275 or 285 up front and 295 or 305 out back are good options.

We've had a number of ZL1 1LE customers buy 19x10" ET20 / 19x12" ET41 setups from us to use with all seasons. They would then run 285/35-19 up front and 325/30-19 out back. The 285s up front cut through water/slush better than a wider tire would, and would pull less in highway ruts.

Here are a few shots of this exact setup, he was using our ARC-8s with Michelin A/S3+
