whats that sound when you open the door on a 20 SS 1LE?

So, probably stupid question, but I'll ask anyway cause it has me intrigued.

So, if my car has been sitting off for a while, and I go open the door, there comes this hum and buzz from the rear of the car for about 5-10 seconds and then it stops. fuel pump, something with the mag ride? no idea and it seems normal, but I'm just curious as to what the heck it is? I had a 2017 V6 2LT before this one and it didn't do it, nor has another other car I've ever had in my life.

That my friend.. is the sweet succulent sound of the car preparing to ignite the wonderfully tasty nectar your V8 needs to send the screaming bald eagles furiously from the 4 pipes out of the rear of your vehicle

my 13yr old asked the same question the other day...my truck does the same thing. DI fuel pump prime. Older fuel injected cars prime when the key is turned to "ON" before starting.

The in tank pump supplies fuel and primes the high pressure pump so it doesn't cavitate when the engine is started, the HP pump is driven by the engine. The car has several fuel pumps being direct injection, normal noise..

Fuel pump priming.... My previous '16 and '17 SS's would only do that when opening/unlocking the driver door only. On my '19 not only when either door opens and it happens when unlock doors via remote, heck it even primes when opening the trunk. Quite normal.

GM added it due to complaints of long crank times.

My Triumph motorcycle will "hum" with the ignition on - fuel pump for the FI.

The sound I notice from the back is the electric parking brake on the SS.

P.S. I don't like electric parking brakes.

I figured it was the fuel pump/pumps (however many pumps these cars have) priming. How long does the car have to sit between priming? If the car isn't cold or been sitting for a while I haven't noticed it priming.
