I have one installed as well and also agree with being surprised no one uses them. It's a great idea and easy to install, definitely feel that it's worth it, although I have no proof.

I ran two mph faster than I ever did but I changed to a different DR but same size At the same time. So I can’t say for sure, but the weather wasn’t the best that day I ran the 124. I would estimate .8+ mph. That’s solid for the price and ease of installation.

any logs before and after? i had a chrs1313 ram air setup on my ls1 car. it made a huge difference. granted it is a better design, the chrs1313 setup leaned my ws6 out A LOT. to the tune of adding 20% more fuel in places. it was a very noticeable improvement AFTER tuning. first log after install showed it lean and pulling quite a bit of timing. basically i’m saying if it’s not messing with the car before tuning, its tough to sell more than a minimal, if any, gain.

hell i pulled the filter out of my otherwise bone stock 18 1LE and it caused enough of a problem to affect idle, drivability and ultimately the trap speed. i feel like the gen3 stuff is far more forgiving in that regard. either way, I'm surprised no one has any hard evidence. the bolt on lsgun car was tuned, it had a whisper lid and no filter to start. adding that cai appeared to gain 3 mph or so

it seems that the setups the fast cars are using all have a direct path to the tb. it looks like this piece is a scoop that directs air to the factory filter location. i am not for or against it, but i find it funny how so many are promoting it with no evidence. reminds me of the ls1tech days when doing stuff like the tb bypass was rampant haha.

Just ordered one. Yes, I know, zero hard data to justify the purchase.

BUT.

Here's what I do know, I had a FTRA (Fast Toys Ram Air) kit on my 2000 Firehawk, and while it didn't do anything on the dyno, that car always trapped higher than other comparably modded cars and had a noticible difference above 100 MPH. Here's a link to the kit I had, and the Velossa basically does the same thing.

I dont know if it matters much, but I installed mine and then had the car tuned. Would my iat's mean anything or no, because I dont have any base temps?

It’s currently showing as “on sale” for $169.00 as of the other day when I ordered mine. Probably not really a sale. Lol

Damn you and your coupon code. I just couldn't help myself, love the idea of easy access to ambient air

Pray was also developing something like this and gave his endorsement to this product on the FB thread about it. Seemed good enough for 150$ so I ordered one.
Hmm, if Pray recommends it I'd bet it works. For $150 and lower IATs it sounds like a bargain. I guess it would fit an LT1. Hmm it wouldn't need a tune either I would think. Make mine red.
