SS 1LE v's 997 Turbo S
This is happening. My mate has a 997 Turbo S and I have a 2018 SS 1LE. He is stock and I will be running an LT376/535 engine with exhaust, cai and E85 custom tune. The venue is Virginia International Raceway in June and fastest lap time take home bragging rights and free dinner. I suspect we are similar in driving ability at this stage and both will likely be getting some HPDE instruction between now and then. We are a little competitive...….
On the assumption that drivers are equal, suspension, tires & brakes stock. Who has the edge? |

Idk but let us know how it goes. Stock for stock, the ss 1le has laid down better laps times at LS and VIR for reference.

I doubt you will stand a chance in a straight line. The turbo S is only for 997.2 and only offered in pdk. This is when 911’s first got seriously fast. 0-60 in the 2’s.
He’ll beat you in the straights and you’ll beat him in the turns. It’s a drivers race. I think with a pro driver behind the wheel of each your car would be quite a bit quicker on a race track. |

I saw that they did have faster laps matching the 1le for the non s 997.2 turbo, the original non s 997 turbo had slower times also though. His car is probably easier to drive but you're extra power should help if you can harness it.
