Best acceleration techniques
For the hardest acceleration, hardest shifts. Sport mode track mode and any other suggestions.

Turn off assists, and anything that draws power like radio and a/c. Then just stomp on it?

Where? Passing power, roll runs, drag racing?

Track mode, race setting. Then work on finding traction.

Not to mention that sapping energy directly from the motor to drive the A/C (which is a very small percentage of the total power ability of the motor) does not translate linearly to loss of power at the wheels...

Actually since they are clutch operated they cost no power at all. Did some before and after dyno pulls with the ac on and off. No change. OP, toss it in track mode and turn off all the traction control. Have a blast. If you're looking for the best launching technique from a dig start with a half throttle punch and when it's done spinning take it to the floor. If it spins excessively at first start out a little lighter, if it doesn't spin go a little harder. Ideally you just chirp them and go |

From a dig, I try to brake torque to about 1,500 RPMs. I then release the brake and roll into the power. You have to just feel it till you can go WOT. Each surface and tire temperatures will be different. Track mode and I leave stability control engaged. It helps eliminate being a Mustang driver with a crowd killer tune.

So is this to say no one really uses launch control via PTM? Or am I just reading your responses wrong?

Launch control works. But it’s a band aid for really knowing how to do it with your feet.
If you want launch control to work best. Set your suspension over ride to tour mode first. The car will squat and grab better. |

It should be noted that the above is only applicable to the ZL1 and not the ZL1 ZLE.
