Ya I guess a front shield wouldn't do much good for rocks coming from the side. Enclosed trailer only option at that point. Not cheap though.

Had the dealer figure out why the PDR has not worked. Some component of the port was damaged and requires new parts.

I hear alot of people leaving Cali I wonder is it because of the fires or political reasons. None of my business just curious.
Agreed. Between the rock guards and the low rear bumper, there is more than adequate protection from projectile rocks and other road debris, which is why the front end did not sustain any damage. I believe turbo2ltr is correct about the rock chips I sustained being caused by adjacent vehicles.

Many people are leaving California because of its current political climate. Rental rates for one-way transports are quickly increasing because the vast majority of equipment is departing California and not returning, per the representatives I spoke with at U-Haul and Penske.

I was looking at getting a tune and having the AFM or DOD turned off with some minors adjustments to the transmission. But since the 2017 SS with the A8 is a bastard child, because the TCM has to be unlocked, it will cost me almost $1000 for a custom tune:( Tried the Range device and it did not work well in my car so I sent it back for a refund. I guess I will wait until I do headers and some other things:(

Took my 2018 to the dealer today, I've got the dreaded A8 shudder, they said they'd have it for about two weeks. They explained about the 'flush' three time and then add the Mobil 1. Love my car but the shudder is a drag.

Why do people opt to make one of their vents non-functional? In California, I cannot get enough AC pointed at me most of the time.

The vent is still functional, air blows though the small cut outs/vent openings around the gauge.

Two weeks? It's like a 3 hour job. The dealer did my Colorado in one afternoon. According to the TSB the billed labor time is 1.1 to 1.6 hours. That doesn't account for the time the machine takes, just the time to hook up, unhook, check levels, etc. I have never heard of anyone needing leave their vehicle more than 1 day maximum (barring any complication).
