Correct. It's a 8.75% reduction in throw compared to the non-1LE SS.

Thank you. Yes, stock (original tires, etc) except for the Hurst shifter.

Knowing I'd never track the car I went with a standard 1SS non MRC and to be honest it's a blast to drive and still handles very, very well. If I were serious about track use then a 1LE would be a bargain, no doubt, but for those of us who do not track, it's basically $7500 extra for something that will only offer marginal gains on the street, if that. Plus call me weird but I'm not that crazy about alcantara or the wrapped hood, yes I get why it's done but it's not good looking aesthetically.

Talking

Coming from a previous Porsche 911 Carrera and a C7 Corvette Stingray Z51, I can assure you that the 6th gen Camaro is a great handling performance machine. Motortrend did a H2H of a 6th gen Camaro SS VS a BMW M3, and they preferred the handling of the Camaro. The Alpha platform of the 6th gen is excellent helping the car perform even better than many exotic euro sport cars. If you want to increase that level of performance and have the budget for it, then there is nothing better for the track than the outstanding handling Camaro SS1LE and the big daddy Camaro ZL1 with its SC power, both are excellent machines.

So you find this thread 7 months later just to say that?

Love my non 1LE 1SS

I’ll admit I haven’t driven a 1SS 1LE, but my plaIn jane 2020 1SS 10 speed auto handles like it’s on rails in the corners. It’s so steady in transitional moves and i love hitting big fast sweepers. After replacing the factory Goodyear run flats with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S the handling improvement was next level. I have 36k on my baby now and haven’t had 1 single problem.

Stock SS handling is already excellent, but the 1LE wheels and wider tires (I also run PS4S) make it really sublime. On the track, the e-diff is also said to make a significant difference.

Ability to change direction quickly and maintain traction is much closer to what “handling” is. Sweepers at 1+G are cool, but keeping traction during changing Gs is what makes or breaks “handling”

I suspect many people won’t be able to tell the difference on the street or track. I can’t tell much difference between a cheap cigar and a Cuban one, or between cheap bourbon and expensive bourbon. It’s all the same to me.

But I could definitely tell the difference between my 2016 1SS and my 2018 1SS 1LE.

This probably just means that your palate is fried, but your sense of detecting traction increases is completely intact.

A "bargain" if you need/want the features and plan to add it later, sure. Otherwise, it's a waste of money if you don't.

I only went with the mag ride as an option, but otherwise bone-stock the SS is super-capable as is. I wouldn't want it stiffer, nor the Recaro seats and the like, for how I drive it (non-track).

So it depends what you need/want.
