Splash gaurds?
Does anyone use them? Should I be looking for some? If you use them, what do you use? As I've stated, the car will be a daily for me for the for-seeable future. Probably till mid summer when I can off my Solstice and get a true daily and not drive the Camaro as much...

I use the RPI splash guards. I’m not 1LE but did change to 1LE size wheels and tires. They sure are stopping a lot of debris from flying along the side and rear on the car.
I’d suggest something as there are many options not limited to splash guards. You could go with a PPF (Paint Protection Film).

I have a setup very similar to Trochoidal's with RPI premium (thicker) rock guards. Will also install side skirts soon, and adding PPF to the rocker panels is certainly beneficial.
One more thing, if you don't like the "mudflap style" of these guards and don't mind spending more, the ACS Composite rock guards can give you a pretty much OEM look. The GM splash guards, while subtle and good looking, are next to useless with wider wheels, the fronts definitely aren't wide enough to block most of the debris.

I use the ZL1 Addons mudflap style rock guards. Have been to dozens of autocross and track days last year - no damage I can see (except for rubber lodging itself into the ppf
Doesn't look that ugly to me, though I'm more of a function over fashion kinda guy anyway - not sure a fashion over function person could live with the ugly looks of a 2019 XD |
