GM wont sell you a car with a warranty if its not built to handle it. You need brakes, suspension, fuel system, tires, and drivetrain. look at my sig. i got close to $65 in my 2SS with no supercharger. No labor. I do my own. i should have just bought a ZL1. im just going to keep it stock i said.

And expect to pay for new tires more with a S/C. I know my stock tires could never handle adding F/I on my LT1.

Does anyone own a Callaway Camaro? Was just curious. I was watching some videos on youtube. I'm sure you can get high HP & Torq for the same cash aftermarket, but interesting you can get the Callaway setup and full warranty.

And you would need to add a wider set of rear wheels plus tires to help handle the increase in hp with a supercharger like a ZL1 has.

With how sketch the bottom end is with piston ring gap and all that on the LT1, hard pass on all that. What I'd rather see is a more overt option from GM to have cars setup with their heads/cam package as an actual model (for non-CARB locations).

let's say your car is totaled and it's damaged. Do you lose the 7k invested in it? Or lets say car is stolen and not recovered. Your auto insurance isn't going to cover an expensive add on. That is why I'm always hesitant on it. What happens if the car is stolen or wrecked? I'd rather just get a Zl1 or Hellcat and have it already on there and just add some minor mods after to the car. |

They will raise what they give you to the value that it would have on the car to make you whole. Will not get full 7k unless you add to policy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

That's what I figured, plus will raise the policy due to the added power your car has as well. IMO I'd just buy a new ZL1 OR get a used ZL1 under 3 years, 36,000 miles old that still has warranty. |

Actually it was cheaper to insure the 2017 ZL1 as compared to the 2016 2SS I owned and I couldn’t understand that because of the extra hp and it being a more expensive Camaro. It might have been because it was a used car instead of new but I surely didn’t question it for long though.

Keep in mind when debating whether to SC a SS or buy a used ZL1, in buying the ZL1, you are getting far more that just an engine with more HP.
You also get an entire drivetrain designed to handle that additional HP/TQ including but not limited to, heavier duty axles and a (in most cases) a bulletproof rear end, etc. |
