DO NOT BUY SPEEDENGINEERING HEADERS!! OR PRODUCTS!!

Purchased 2 inch headers for 16 camaro ss. All sorts of fitment issues!!!!!
Driver side: they are crushing heatshield on knock sensor to the point were its an issue
Passenger side hitting fire wall in 2 spots CAUSING MAJOR CABIN VIBRATIONS N DENTING IT
Also touching brake line hold down clip n melting it. I could only imagine brake fluid temp
Save ur money n buy something else
Had shop look at headers, motor mounts etc and shop said THATS WHAT U GET FOR BUYING CHEAP S#@$
Never again
Will post more pictures when i get home!!
Tried contacting speedengineering AND GOT THE "ITS UR CAR" ITS UR "MOTOR MOUNTS" ETC N THEN BLOCKED ME AFTER A FEW EMAILS
THEY DONT CARE AT ALL

Buy once, cry once.

I'm sure a few people here have the SpeedEngineering headers though too.

I know TSP states on their website that 2" headers might have clearance issues.

I would, but then I'm OK used to "clearancing" the headers.. pass me the hammer.

You do realize that there are a ton of foreign parts on your American car right?

Probably some from China since so many parts are made there.

I had 1 7/8 installed on my car about a month ago and fitment was perfect. No issues with any components touching others and didnt have to modify anything. I did hear that the first version of their headers from a year or two ago had issues with fitment, but a revision was made to get them to fit better. Maybe you got one of their older revisions? Sorry to hear your having issues!

Motor Mounts: What a lot of people don’t realize is motor mounts play a huge roll in the location of the engine. One car will have a 1/2” or more of clearance, where another car will have an 1/8” of clearance using the same pair of headers. These new liquid filled motor mounts fail quite often, and usually on the load sided or drivers side, which swings the passenger side header into the chassis. Regardless if the car has 1000 miles or 100k miles we have seen them fail.

China Quality Control: I have also seen a lot of people on here point fingers at China, and blame cheap junk “what do you expect”. China is not the same today as it was 10+ years ago. We have been vary happy over the years with the factory we use, and their quality control. I would even go as far as saying their quality control is similar to a US manufacture. We literally see a max variance on their jigs of 1/8” over hundreds of sets. So in our experience another set of headers would not fix the customers condition.

Fitment: The 2” 6th gen Camaro headers when prototyping/testing fitting the jigs had plenty of clearance. We have also sold a lot of sets since the release without a single complaint. Now our 1 7/8” headers upon release were close to the steering shaft, however we have since made a revision on those, and the clearance issue has been resolved. So far we have not seen any reason to make a revision on the 2” version.

Incorrectly Stated: We would never block someone’s email, specially a customer. Nor do the sales guys even have the ability to block an email.

With all of this being stated we do stand behind our products, and we do care about customer service. If the customer decides to put new motor mounts in the vehicle, and the problem still exists we will be more than happy to take care of it.

Thank you
Sean
OP said he had a shop look at the motor mounts....

I had a similar issue, with their c7 headers. Its like a hit or miss with them. A few buddies run them with 0 issues.

now that they are involved with this thread, I would have them send you a new set or get you a refund.. I've heard kooks have not had any issues. Yes Texas speed has some fitment issues with the bolt hitting the steering shaft (this is also hit and miss).
