I is not measure in HP. I (inertia) for driveline purposed is the equivalent of a rotational mass. And like any mass (in the absence of friction or other external forces), it doesn't take any force to keep it moving at a constant speed. But it does take force (or torque for rotational purposes) to accelerate. If you want to know what it takes to accelerate a given rotational inertia to a given speed (i.e. RPM), then that is measure in work. How quickly you increase that inertial to that rotational speed (i.e. acceleration) can be measure in power (i.e. HP)
EDIT: nvm, i get what you're saying now

I don't know, but it is nice for a change (however short of a time it might be) to see people from both sides actually having a discussion about something, without arguing and attacking each other...

It's not... High 11's or low 12's, from a factory car, is getting it done period...

The ZL1 might not be the fastest car in it's segment, but it is definitely not slow by any means...

Furthermore, the Z will easily destroy 99% of the cars it encounters on the street, and look pretty damn good while doing it. Seems like a win in my book, whether it can take a 13 Shelby or not...

say what you want, but 600+ of those horses are consistently finding their way to the rear wheels which is about 100rwhp more than the 580hp zl1

since youre so versed in sae ratings, what do they (sae certifiers) say about the overrev feature on the GT500? and how does that affect the ratings?? links?
is it at all possible the 662hp rating is at the designated "redline" and the "overrev" rpm range isnt part of the sae certification since its technically limited?? sources please.

^^Cool vid, thanks.

Can't wait to see one of these things lowered with another set of wheels. Would love to see a set of Forgestar F14's on this thing...

Not slow - unless ran with 11 sec cars...then it will be "slow" compared to them. BIG difference (you know this) from 11.6 and low 12's.

Yes it is a big difference. However, even when compared to the new Shelby, the word slow shouldn't even be mentioned when talking abouth the Z.

If im not mistaken, the Shelby has ran low 12's as well. Just sayin...

the shelby has ran 12's in the wrong hands. But a quick search for the ZL1 side and youll find that one vid with the guy running mid 13's in the zl1.

- You're not mistaken - However the low 12 run is the exception - not the norm. Almost all runs are in the 11.6 - 11.8 range. And if one that did run low 12's were to go up others running mid 11's, it would be about 5 lengths behind. It would certainly look "Not as FAST" compared to them. How's that?
