What COPO number is it?
Cool to see it has the N/A 427 too. I believe this is the rarest engine out of the 3 available engines.

I was there and walked around that car. What a beast! Does anyone know what the orange ZL1 went for?

For the ZL1, the "Bid went on" at $47,000 (it may have been $43K). Not sure if it ever sold.

Mecum auctions are always a blast, I have the fortune of attending the kissimmee every year with a family friend who sells a lot of cars at these auctions and he's a personal friend of Dana Mecum. So, some times Dana will let me drive the cars across the block. Its an incredible experience.

Pics or it didn't.... oh ... wait. That's awesome. My brother is an electrician, and he sets up the Mecum show here in St. Charles, IL. They come twice for Bloomington Gold in June, and then again around October - One of the first years we were there, one of the drivers hit the wall by the exit in a 64 Corvette that just sold for if I remember correctly around $70k. You could actually see the wall move while watching it on TV - he hit it good. Later when we were tearing down the show, we checked that wall out, it was moved about a foot from where it was orginially. Lucky it wasn't a load bearing wall. Mecum then paid the Pheasant Run Mega Center to widen that bay door so this didn't happen again.

I met the owner of the ZL1, he is a member here. Some variation of "1bad69".

I believe those premiums are ON TOP of what the cars sell for. So They would pay the $140K PLUS what ever the premiums are. Then the Government will take it's share from the seller and Mecum's profit.

According to the Mecum web site, both the buyer's premium and the sellers commision are in addition (on top of) the hammer price.

The amount of the buyers premium and the sellers commision depend on the price as well as if it has a reserve or not.
