Maybe on the low end versions, but I consider a 41k dollar 1LE to be a bargain of the century considering what it can do to cars twice that price.

Doesn't matter for the 90%+ of buyers that don't track their car. People would rather buy a base version of a high horsepower car, not a track star.

Exactly! I would personally prefer to have a straight line beast.... Z28

Keep the 1LE for the track folks but give up a basic, powerful car without the $10k worth of suspension upgrades

I know, but the price is relative. For what you get, 41k is cheap. I'd like to have a Porsche 911 for 40k, but that isn't going to happen.

The camaro isn't meant to be a car that everyone can buy. They have hyundais, Kia, and cobalts for that.

I disagree that a majority of buyers would want a base model anything. People already gripe that they wish it had more gizmos and could give messages while you drive.

I think Chevy is purposely keeping the price brackets where they are to move the image to a more sophisticated level instead of the mullet machine image. One reason sales numbers are down is probably due to less rental car fleet vehicle sales. Strategic move by GM. Maybe it will work, maybe not.

Only 20% of sales are SS, the majority are the low end models.

I think the price went up because of the chassis. I don't really believe they are padding prices to make it appear on a "sophisticated level"

Im thinking this world has gone from nuts to full blown potato. There is a guy in the demon thread claiming that the current Challenger isnt a "muscle" car because muscle cars from the 60 were designed to handle. Haha!!

Where does that data come from? We've been looking for that for a while.

As the Camaro is selling poorly, that would make the SS a very rare car. Much more rare than a Corvette.

BIG ASS GRILL!

I was getting ready to move up from my 2011 LT1 to the 2019 until I saw that GAWD AWFUL Challanger-like grill. Chevy's site says this is a 'preproduction' model and that the actual model may change. Please, please baby jesus up in heaven have them rethink that gaping maw of a grill before they go to production!
