needing tire help
Hi guys,
i need tire help from the experts on here. i know this has been covered alot but.... i need new tires for my 2019 ZLE stock auto. i have stock 19 inch rims or a set of ZL1 20 inch rims i could run??? so should i run the stock 19's or 20's??? its for daily driver but want something that works well on the street in the rain. and that i can drive to the track and run track events, also something that will hook at the dragstrip. is there one tire that works good for everything? thanks for any help you can give me. |

Not really. An ultra high performance summer tire, like the Michelin Sport 4S, is the closest you'll find.
19's will allow for more sidewall on the street and are typically slightly less expensive. |

Go with the stock size for your wheels unless you want an extra set of tires on the 20s that you will have to buy.

You are asking a lot from 1 tire. One of the best option is the 4S. But it won’t do all 3 of your requirements.

The Michelin PS4S is probably the closest, it'll give you a quiet ride, good dry traction, near perfect wet traction and hydroplaning resistance, decent track performance—but it will not hook well at the dragstrip. Maybe you can experiment with 19" wheels and more sidewall, which might help, but I don't know, this tire's dry compound section probably isn't wide enough nor is the compound sticky enough.

Had the PS4S’s on my SS 1LE. They worked very well on the street with aggressive cornering. On a ZLE they’re certainly not gonna perform like the 3R’s. But they are great in the rain. Like everything, a compromise.

Agree with everyone above that the Michelin 4S is the best “jack of all trades” tire you’ll find and that sticking with 19’s is best.
If you want to go one step better in dry grip from the 4S you could also consider the Goodyear Supercar 3’s (not 3R’s). I’m running those in OEM ZLE sizes right now, and they are a step up from the 4S in dry grip but a significant step down in wet grip. |

Ill be running either the MPS4S or the Conti Extreme Contacts come Spring. Ill go Michellin as long as I can justify the cost difference between the two when I order. |

Just be careful of the PS4S on the track. They will heat up quickly and become greasy. They may heat cycle out pretty quickly. That means that after 6-10 session (1 track weekend) you may have heat cycled out the tires.
