Mine was built August 14th 2017 and knock on wood its still pumping! The car now has 3400 miles on it and its been to the drag strip 4 times. Kinda a tad unnerving reading this though... Now that i have blown my warranty to smithereens! :/

No bulletins that I could find. I was told that when they called in TAC they knew exactly what the problem was. I attached my invoice info. The service manager said the pump part number was updated a couple times in 2017, and again in 2018, but not sure if that is correct.
I've not been able to find gm dock 3290646 mentioned.

My car was built April 2017.
Std Zl1 A10
Daily drive it, raced it once.
No issues with the pump
15500 miles on it

Ordered the pump as a spare part just in case...
I confirm the ref changed a couple of time!
It’s not the good one on line (GM parts), I had to call them to make sure I will get the good one...
The one I ordered and received for my 17 Zl1 is:
12677142 (117,24$)
Hope that helps
(The 12665357 on line is not accurate)

Mine just failed on Easter. 7k miles, 2017. Do I need to worry about the actual oil pump parts messing up my engine? Will the dealership look for damage as they install a new pump?

I have a question for those of you who lost a pump. I was driving to a brunch this morning with wife and kids in the car, about 80mph on tollroad. Had been driving for maybe 20-25 minutes when I just lost power, engine shut off followed a few seconds later by the low oil pressure, shut engine off immediately message. I pulled over to shoulder, got out, and some oil was coming out from front of engine by lower pulley. Not much, maybe a cupful or two, but definitely had oil coming out.

Prior to engine shutting off there were no unusual sounds, no knocking... I didn't even realize the engine had shut off until I started slowing down.

Oil was changed about two weeks ago and still shows full on the dipstick, and have not tried to restart engine. Currently waiting on flatbed to get here with car.

Did anyone else actually have any oil come out after failure?

My issue is going to be that it is pretty modified. Never touched the bottom end when I pulled the engine, but has cam, heads, headers, pulley etc so not even worth taking to dealer even though I did not do anything to rotating assembly. Since there was no noise and it shut off immediately I am *hoping* the bottom end is good, but will not know until i have a chance to look at it. Just do not know where the oil is coming from.

This could make for two oil pump failures on Easter lol.. Oh, car has just under 22k miles on it now and has had mods on it since about 2500 miles. Not a single issue until now, has performed perfectly and have had several drives to Arkansas, Missouri, Hill country etc.

Sorry to hear that man. No, my engine did not shut off and I have no oil coming out. Maybe your filter came loose? Not sure.

I will know more once I have car in the garage and have a chance to inspect it. If bottom end is hurt will probably go with. Texas Speed 416 short block as I already have their heads. Pretty sure it is not filter though as oil came out front of engine somewhere.

Only good thing is I have had the engine out once so second time around will not be as challenging. I can make a better decision once car gets here and I have a chance to get into it.

Out of curiosity has anyone been able to confirm that there are any updated parts to address these failures? My 2019 was a March build, hoping that it doesn't have the same failing parts that the 2017's had...

Sooo... in my case it is not the oil pump. Instead the key on the front of the crank appears to have sheared. Which meant no timing chain turning and the oil pump was no longer pumping. On the bad side I know I have at least two bent valves (heads have to come back off) and the front seal leaked, hence the oil out of the front. On the plus side the pump should be ok, and as the engine stopped turning immediately I do not expect the rotating assembly was damaged. I will start pulling the supercharger and heads tomorrow, but need to figure out why the key sheared in the first place.
