Help

Afternoon,

The other day I installed a Roto-Fab and followed the directions. Today I took it out for a spin...….nice day. About 3 miles from the house, the warning lights for the engine and stabiltrack light up, along with service warnings for the stabiltrack and rear axle. Along with a loss of power!!! While legging it home, I got an email from OnStar that there is something wrong with the emissions.

My gut tells me the Soler TB, Soler Controller and the Roto-Fab are not playing nice. Called the dealership, will be taking in on Monday.

Any insight as to the problem is always appreciated. Thanks, Tony

Dealership isn't going to be likely to do much with the aftermarket parts on there, other than maybe say take them off.
Did you try unhooking the battery for awhile? Basically, do the soler TB ECM learning method (the long one) and see if that helps...thats what I'd do as a first step anyways.

Total shot in the dark here but if it’s not too much trouble, disconnect the battery, re-install the OEM box and try it again. I’m assuming we’re not about a Big Gulp as I understand a tune is required.

Good luck,
Chris

no big gulp, no tune.

I suspect the TB, controller and Roto-Fab are not playing nice. I disconnected the battery when I got home. Will reconnect and see what happens.

Was it working before the Roto Fab? I am assuming you had the first two already.
Revert back after trying the battery disconnected to reset it.

Will do! Was thinking that as a possible solution.

No previous problems with the Soler TB or controller. This was the first time I took it out since the install of the Roto-Fab

another thought too; check just to make sure connectors to the TB and MAF didn't get knocked loose during the CAI install. When I last swapped my TB back to stock, I completely forgot to plug it back in, got a shitload of messages on the dash lol (frankly, I'm impressed it ran at all).

Check the plug in connections again while battery is off, I just did the throttle controller yesterday and got all the dash lights limp mode etc, I started over and checked everything and it was fine when I rebooted the car.

I suspect it either just Needs a reboot or something isn’t plugged in right or something got damaged during your install. I have Soler TB and controller with Rotofab and mine ran great from the get go. I don’t think just having this combo is the issue.

Just got back from taking it out! Disconnected the battery, reinstalled the OEM air box. Reconnected the battery and didn't get out of my driveway, before the warning lights lite up again!

Dam! Could it be the MAF sensor went bad? I didn't remove the sensor itself when I did the Roto Fab. I removed the two screws and laid the entire assembly on the SC out of the way. Oh well, the OEM air box is back on, it looks like a trip to the dealership is in my future.

I had a very similar issue after installing a vararam CAI on my 2005 GTO years ago. Turns out I had a bad wire in the MAF connector. Never an issue until I installed the CAI.

Remove the throttle controller and everything will be fine. No matter how many times these companies say they do not cause issues they always seem to. Clear the codes and everything will be good.
