A 2020 red C8 2LT vert with the Z51 package just went at Mecum Indy for $80k, and it had very low miles. I seem to recall a super low mile C8 going at Mecum Vegas a few months ago for sub $90k, and again, not a stripped out model. They are making way more Vettes than Camaros and the only Vettes that are going to maintain or increase in value are the Z06's. If they ever actually make the ZR1's and Zora, those will be collector's items. All the people saying buy a Vette are not watching the auction prices.
Will the Camaros be collector's items? Who knows, but I wouldn't sell one to buy a Vette that's anything less than a Z06.

USED c8's are going for above msrp since they are readily available. If you order a new one, you can get it for msrp where I live and I live near a major metropolitan area. Until people stop paying crazy prices for used cars they are going to keep selling for crazy prices. Patient private sellers are probably getting close to retail for their Camaros and corvettes.

Count me in as a “seller” however I am impatient and will just trade my car in if my order gets accepted for a 2023 2ss 1le. If my order gets accepted I MAY try to private sell my 16 1ss but I want a quicker sale. I’m not going to ask for the amount a dealership would sell for, just a couple grand over the trade in. I would only try to sell the few weeks before the car gets to the dealership. I was strongly considering getting an 18 2ss 1le but why in the world would I pay 40ish grand for one when I can POSSIBLY order one for 12-14k more but is zero years old.

Not sure if PA is like WI, but in WI whatever trade value you get for your car you take off the new car and don't pay taxes on that amount. So if you are only going to ask a couple grand over trade value.... (if PA is like WI), you might as well just trade it in as the tax savings would be close to a couple grand anyway. Why hassle with selling it privately.

I'm considering selling my 6500 mile 50th anniversary. I'm seeing them listed for ridiculous money that I honestly probably won't see later with the economy shitting the bed.

Same rules here. And yep I will do the math before listing a price. Thing is, dealers are listing their trade ins SIGNIFICANTLY more than what they are paying for them these days. So I feel like if I list mine 3-4 grand over trade in I’ll make 1-2k after subtracting potential tax savings and someone will get a decent deal on a used Camaro. I also acknowledge that it might not be worth the hassle as dealing with people can be tough when it comes to selling something.

Gotcha... Yep you have already thought it out.

Used car and used bike market is still just crazy. I've been looking to get my hands on a specific '09 Harley, but I won't touch them for the prices private sellers and dealers have them listed for. $4 - 7k over book value. No thanks...

Unhappy

I had to sell my lovely low miles '16 Camaro 2SS 6MT at the beginning of the dam pandemia. At that time per NADA and KBB it was sold at a fair price of $28,800, just 6 months later prices for used cars went crazy because of the lack of chips and other reasons, and the same type of car went crazy expensive to $35,000 and with much higher mileage. Now I want to get one back but after 3 years prices are still sky high on the used market.

Nah my car is perfect V8 sounds great handles the twisties good and its just a very fun car. I could go on and on how much I enjoy/love it but you get the idea. My late father got to ride in it and had his last ever car ride in it as well so it's not going anywhere.

That would be dumb to sell such a nice car with the best looking front end (other than the ZL1).

And they won't be making very many (if any) V8 cars for much longer.

Better hold onto your car and enjoy it.

Too many other V8 toys in the fleet at the moment but I do agree that it has the best looking front end on the 6th gen. And yes I'm including the ZL1 in that statement. Still like the 2SS styling better.

Well I tried first to trade up, about 1 month ago or so. Sent my online build to 2 dealers. One never responded. The other responded, then left me hanging. Now I'm ignoring him since he has everything he needs to make me a deal, but won't give any numbers.

Next, I listed it for exactly 1 week on FB Marketplace. Listed it for high KBB value, because everyone wants to negotiate (aka give insulting offers, etc). Got one scammer and one dealer. Dealer never responded after I responded to him.

Deleted my listing. Keeping it. All good.
