I think with all the hubbub about the ZL1 and Z/28's Nurburgring times and how they used "extrapolations and simulations" to draw the times..they're a bit more shy to release hard lap times.
Gen5 ZL1 and Z/28 N'ring times were not extrapolations of simulations but in fact video taped for confirmation of the runs.

What Al and the team said was the Z/28 had gone faster in a lot of the segments but was not videoed since it wasn't a record setting run attempt unlike the one which showed rain and a wet track on most of the back portion as evidence which was an attempted record run.

I think Al and team Camaro have delivered on all fronts whenever they make a performance claim or weight reduction statement.

They haven't begun to really push times, speed, and advertising, yet.

Hopefully that's coming soon.

With drag radials this is a very true statement, go back and watch that video again. 11.93 was what they achieved in good cool air.

The SS will be in the next Head2Head. We should get the first taped lap time for a 6 gen Camaro. Hopefully it will be a manual so we can get a solid baseline for the 1LE.

I wanna see exactly how close the new v6 1le gets to the the 5th gen 1le. And how well it does in sccs/solo events.

I'm aware. But if Ford put drag radials on a GT350 and proclaimed mid-to-low 11's, a lot of people would make the case that it was not a stock car.

I think what most people are saying is that the ZL1 is not an 11 second car all day. Just like the SS isnt an 11 second car all day.

Edit: Don't be a fan boy. We need to be better than that over here.

All three of the halo cars ran the times they said...ZL1, Hellcat and GT500. The ZL1 situation kind of left a bad lingering shadow, one GM didn't repeat.

Though I don't think the GT500 ever hit 200MPH stock like Ford said...I think it was Hotrod that got it to 198 or 199...I don't think they punched the number tho.

I wear the fanboy badge proudly. Turn your nose up, if you like.

And Motor Trend got 196 in Arizona heat at a high elevation. I think it's possible to hit 200 with that car, but the conditions have to be perfect. It's not consistently a 200mph car.
