Everyone is thinking this car is a bargain, but Chevy has adopted the sales model of the European cars already with the C7. Low base price, but ridiculous option prices, and good luck finding a base model for the first couple of years. You'll see more with $80K+ pricetags than $60K pricetags.

He is simply guessing. At ~$60k, the base C8 is not too far off from the base C7 at ~$56k. $15k for Z51, Magride, PDR and Comp. seats? Not hardly. Again, comparing the prices to a C7, $15k on a base Stingray will put you into a well equipped Grand Sport or perhaps even a stripped down Z06 if you can find a deal.

GM nailed it with the price point. It isn't too far off from the current model and that was the biggest concern among the faithful.

There is no way that the Vette gets a manual. I don't think there is another mid-engine car making 500hp with a manual. No way some company is going to make one from scratch and be able to keep the price low enough to put into a $60k car.

My Chevy Dealer where I got my car sent me an email to order a Vette. They said will be getting 650 of them this year and they already since last night have deposits for 330 orders. So I expect these cars to sell way above $60k until the demand comes down or unless you pre-order.

Local dealer to me only sells them at MSRP (for the initial, eventually they'll be less..). If anyone needs their contact info let me know.

Not anymore, but there certainly has been in the past - minus the price. I'm sure they just sell so many auto vettes compared to manuals that it wasn't worth the crash testing funds and cost of the trans. GM wouldn't be the ones making the trans.

RELAX, Let the hype die down.

GM ALWAYS whores out their performance cars after the hype fades. You will see 10% to 15% off MSRP after the first 2 years. Just in time for me to trade the SS 1LE
