How to visually tell the difference...
Between a V-6 and V-8 on a gen 5? I know on the gen 6’s, it’s the horizontal DRLS, bigger spoiler, hood vents, and of course the logo on the back bumper. But lately I’ve been seeing bunches of gen 5’s around where I live and it seems like none of those clues work. Even the emblems on the back bumper seem non-existent on all the ones I’ve seen. I’m just curious. Thanks

Look for the "mail slot" on the front hood/bumper.

All the GEN5 Camaros had gills in front of the rear wheels
V8 model / SS 10-13 had the mail slot 14-15 has the vent in the hood Also front fascia on the SS has more of a chin spoiler

Another "tell" is the exhaust pipe diameter. Though, this is a little harder to differentiate. Obviously, the SS has larger diameter pipes.

Ok thanks for the tips. Seems like all the gen 5’s around here have been de-badged (both front and back).

Another indicator will be the shape of the black fog light surround bezels.
The V6 bezels are round whereas the V8 bezels are rectangular.

They did a better job differentiating the different models on the 6th gen!
