V-6 Air Intake System

Does anyone know the latest info on the Air Intake System for the V-6. last I eard was that it was to be released on July 15th 2009 and to hit the streets on July 20th 2009. I ordered the V-6 Exhaust System with Tips and the Air Intake System on the same day and the Exhaust System came in first. I installed the Exhaust System and am still waiting on the Air Intake System. Somewhere I heard that the Air Intake System is being redone for some technical reasons. Can anyone in the know give some acurate information here, I have already paid for my system and it seems the wait is as long as waiting for the car.

Are you referring to the GM Performance Parts intake? I have not heard anything about that but from what I have seen it isn't worth the money. AirRaid should be releasing theirs in a couple weeks and it looks like a much better use of money.

Yes I am referring to the GMPP Air Intake System. I always put the manufacturers parts on my cars, and if I go after market it is only after I have had my car forever, like on my 1987 Camaro RS, which I have had for over 22 years.

If you go through your dealership parts department the prices are as follows:

Exhaust System (w/Tips), part #92206990, $950.00, install price $1,049.00 not including taxes.

Air Intake Kit, part #92212304, $450.00, install price $499.50 not including taxes

These are both for the V-6 not the V-8

You cant know the gains until the make and we buy it then you gotta dyno it because GM wont put out any kind of HP rating.

I added a GM exhaust.. recently on a cold idle it sounds bad. but once it is hot..It is amazing and the take off and drive away makes you wonder....wow..the stock exhausts are super heavy...the after market is light.

I am Very Happy with the sound that my GMPP Exhaust makes. To me it sounds alot better then the stock system and of course it is lighter, I also Love the way the New Tips look and how they fill most of the hole where they exit the underbody of the car.
