Yes, it's getting bad. Been some "interesting" spam to say the least.

Maybe the site needs to do something different to help stop these people from joining. One site I am a member of requires potential new members to add a valid phone number when registering. If something looks suspicious on the sign up the owner of the site will call the number to verify that it is a real person that actually has interest in whatever the site is about.

Thanks for all the reports guys, several of us have been trying to keep up with them. Dang you oughta see my email inbox on a heavy spam day…

I’ve been chasing my grand daughter and her show steer this week, and a neighbor kids final season of hs baseball…

Several of us used to troll the members list, filtered newest up top, and you got a sense of the bad players and were able to nip them in the bud before the damage was done… Downside, no more members list… Not because of what we were doing but for other reasons I’m not at liberty to discuss…

I think part of the issue is the older software. I commented to the site owner this evening about adding in more registration defense if possible. Until then, if, we’ll continue chasing the reports…

Is it just me or are these spam accounts taunting the mods with these "where is the administrator" posts?

I think it's hopeless. I'm not going to bother reporting them any more. Its an exercise in futility. Tired of it.

Now theyre even talking to themselves...lol https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showt...7#post11407787

Isn't that something, but you are right on it being hopeless. I spend half my time on here reporting spam and its just getting old.

Here's an idea. Why not put a "freeze" on creating new accounts?

Look at the "New Member Introductions".....Pretty slim. At least after a post is made in that forum first, a waiting period of a few days to review the account could weed out the spammers before they pollute the rest of the web-site. It seems too easy to create an account. Not that many members are actually logged on at any one time. Most are "guests".

A new account needs some sort of gate-keeping feature instead of being so easily mis used...

My $.02

This poor forum currently has no less than 12 spam threads, all by different "new members." https://www.camaro6.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=224
