Ordered New Tires - Dated in 2021

Just order a new set of track tires from tire rack and went with the OEM ZLE 305/30 and 325/30 from tire rack. The 325s got delivered today and the tires were manufactured in 2021.

I was expecting a newer year than August/Sept of 2021. Thoughts about tire age and track usage?

I just purchased the 18 ZLE with 650 miles and wanted to swap out tires for this track season as the tires on the car are the originals that came with it and they have a 2017 manufacture date with unknown storage and unknown heat cycles.

Not ideal, but Tire Rack stores these out of the sun in heated and air conditioned warehouses, so IMO not a disaster either, they're "only" 2.5 years old and the compound should last 6-7 years. If you drive the car "correctly", I doubt you'll have any tread left by then

That's the very definition of fresh rubber, only 4 weeks old

I gave up on GYSC3’s for this very reason. I tried and tried but all I got was 2 year old tires at best.
