can't remember specs - saw it last year, i think, but i'd be more interested in the laser from Real Science
i feel like adding a gun would give the pilots too much control in the airplane

valid
as terrible as that sucks

Would have to have the ability to automate the shifting as well of course.
swap the stick with 2 buttons, and voila! a DCT

Its just a different way to engage the clutch. A sensor on the pedal activates an electronic system, rather than pushing the pedal activating a hydraulic system. The actual selection of the gears looks like it would still be done manually. It could, like R&D speculated, be possible to fully automate the clutch system or maybe put a button on the shifter rather than using a clutch pedal. That would make it a little more convenient to drive a manual, but it would be far from an automated manual.

An automated manual that still has a stick & shift-gate would probably just be a dual-clutch automatic with a dummy gate that reads the position of the gear selector but has no mechanical connection to the transmission.

The air intakes seem a little extreme to me, but other than that I dig it

Just a funny observation...

Maybe they had different people work on the different angles of the car because the panel cut lines are completely different in all of them.
