If a c7 runs 11's stock what should the next camaro run?

So after seeing a bone stock auto c7 run 11.6's at 3400+lbs without driver what do you think the next camaro will run if it gets the same engine? Low 12's mid to high 12's being the norm?

Where did you see a stock one go 11.60's? I find that hard to believe. The best times have been mid to low 12's I have seen. Unless this guy got a KILLER 60ft at the perfect temps I don't see that possible.

Holy CRAP.

I've only seen two other owner passes, and those were mid to low-mid 12s but I believe they were manual cars and not automatics.

The link says it was done on stock tires as well...that almost seems too good to be true.

I would have bet money the car would be able to hit a 12 flat but I never expected THAT.

If thats the case, and the 6th gen Camaro uses the same engine with the same power output and if it weighs a good 2 or 3 hundred lbs less I don't see at all why it couldn't run low to mid 12s stock.

Still sounds crazy.

Mid 12s, but if the Mustang loses 400lbs like it's rumored I think the Camaro is going to hit low 12s to keep up.

I seriously doubt the Mustang is going to lose that much weight. The new car apparently rides on the same 107 wheelbase as the current car, but the changes in sheetmetal and what not make the smaller and probably help to shave some weight a long with advancements in the chassis. The independent suspension likely doesn't help in shaving weight either.

In the end, if the V8 Mustang weighs much under 3,400 if it even gets under that I'll be pretty impressed. It would have to weigh around 3,200 lbs if it lost 400 lbs.

I knew the low 12s were going to fall once somebody got an automatic on the track in good weather. Beautiful times...., Also anyone doubting the 60' times remember we are talking an automatic car here 1.70s on stock rubber, should be possible.

Just because a C7 has run mid 11s, that should in no way indicate what a 6th gen Camaro 'should' do. When I see the word 'should' I think of normal, average times. Not hero runs.

If you consider the C7 to be a mid 11 second car, then the 5th gen is mid 12s. The added power & reduced weight should shave a few tenths off the next gen, which would put it in the low 12s.

And moved to the 6th Gen sub-forum

Odds are, if the Mustang looses 400 lbs it will not be between comparable powertrains. Throw a NA 4 cylinder in as the base engine & you save a whole bunch of weight vs a V6.

Agree.

If the base car weighs 3,200 lbs (still really good) you still have to take into consideration that the GT will likely weigh a couple hundred lbs more...int he 3,400 ish range. I still think when you compare similar equipped GT models from the current 13/14 model to the new 15, I'm going to guess somewhere between 150 - 250lbs lost.

There have been plenty of bone stock LS3 Vettes hitting high 11s so this doesn't surprise me much (ideal temps and track). The next gen Camaro with the same engine should be pretty fast. If they end up on the ATS platform and can keep the weight under 3500 it should be in the mid 12s all day with some guys diving into the low 12s and I'm sure there will be a freak or two to pop off an 11.99.
