Brake pad recommendations - Canyon Carver usage

Hey Everyone,

It's going to be time for new front brake pads for my ZL1 soon.

What are your recommendations? I'm happy with the stock pad performance and am not bothered by the dust. I did get a little sticker shock for the stock pads from an online GM parts site but see a broad range of prices out there for aftermarket options. I don't mind paying for quality though so I would like to know your opinions on brake pad options out there for the ZL1.

In a set of replacement pads I'm looking for same or better bite and temperature performance compared to stock. I'm not bothered by dust or noise (as long as it's not excessive) - performance is my primary concern. I may track the car this coming year but its primarily used for canyon carving. Also not looking for dedicated track pads (that need to be warm to work and are very noisy)

Thanks for you input!

I’d look into the new Raybestos street performance. SP1835XP is the part number. Says they are performance street/autox/light track use. Very affordable.

You already have everything you need with the OEM pads. This is NOT a place to save a few bucks.

Hi. I am a fan of Hawk HPS(high performance street) pads. You won't save any money because they're expensive. But the have low dust and excellent grab. Used them on a 2002 Trans am ws6 I owned. Liked them so much I put them on my pickup. Made a night and day difference.

Thanks for the responses, everyone. Sounds like the OE pads are the popular choice. This is the first car I've had where it comes so well equipped from the factory that aftermarket parts aren't an upgrade. That's good to know.

Rock Auto has the fronts for $205. The cheapest I found them. Scoggin-Dickey had them for $183 for the longest time, but they went up to $277.
