Engine noise
Hi Folks,
i just bought a used Z28 2015 black with 35k miles on the clock. I feels great, but since my first drive i think i have a clock inside the engine. The dealer told me,that this is the sound of the oil pumps of the try sump system. In gear 1 - 3 you can hear it clearly with the same rpm all the time. If you drive 50 miles per hour in the 5. or 6. Gear you will hear allmost nothing. Anyone has similar experience ? Can it be the oil pumps ? Cheers from Switzerland |

Clicking noise is normal with LS engines. Its not the oil pump, the dealer is full of it.

Just look up ticking noise for any LS engine variation, you'll find the same answers. Its valvetrain noise is all. It annoys me tbh; but its not a killer |

Even with my upgraded valve train I get the noise at 2k rpm in any gear.

I've got the CHE bronze trunnion kit, Brian Tooley dual valve springs, and upgraded heads. If anything, it got louder in my case. I definitely notice it more. Not sure if its because of the power increase (heads are also ported and upgraded the cam), or it just happens to be louder.
