I really enjoy the Shelby, don't get me wrong. But I started to wonder where it fell in the Ford lineup. The standard 5.0 GT can get almost all the performance upgrades minus the 5.2 FPC and ends up faster and cheaper; the new GT500 will smoke the 350. So at the end of the day you get a unique engine (i.e. questionable support 5 years from now) and the sweetest stock exhaust note you'll ever get.

Something very telling to me was just taking a look on Autotrader. There are at least a page-worth of results if looking for a Shelby GT350. On the other hand, for a ZL1 1LE I only saw about 5 results within a 200-mile radius (3 of which were for new).

And yes, I feel the same way, I don't want to get out of it when I put her to bed. This is her sleeping after being washed.

OP....once you go ZL1 then it is the only ONE.
I’m glad to learn I am not the only guy that feels like the car is faster after it’s washed. Actually, any of the vehicles I have owned over the years have always felt that way. Must be mind games lol.

I had the 2016 GT350 Tech Pack. What did you have?

I believe its only because of the Shelby's price.. they are priced by name not by actual performance. The car was amazing when I came out still the best looking mustang in my book... But to expensive for what it offers, there are simply better options.

1LE are special cars and performs as such no just using the 1LE name as a sales thing.

Exactly, the GT350 was nice sounding over the Mustang GT, but now it is only 66 more HP and you can get the upgraded suspension and tires on the GT. The performance increase is negligible as most people will never realize the difference.

Plus, they will stop making the GT350 in a couple of years mainly because of engine problems and the GT500.

Here are a few shots of my Shelby. Picked her up last summer as part of another sweet deal. Tech pack and 6700 miles on the odometer.

Yes, the Tech Pack was a Ford screw up. Now nobody wants them
