Turbo Upgrades - Question
Hey guys,
Long-time lurker, really appreciate all of the great information offered around here - much of which has helped tremendously with my build to date. Will get to posting a journal for it soon, but to the question... Has anyone purchased/installed either of the Turbo Bay turbo upgrades for the 2.0T Camaro? Specifically interested in dyno sheets or 1/4 mile slips with before and afters. I realize it might be difficult to find someone who installed only the turbo and did a before and after for that alone - so I don't mind if the before and afters include several other upgrades as well... just looking for some real-world numbers from someone running one of them as a place to start. If someone is aware of a thread with this information, please let me know - I've got no issue doing the reading myself, but have been unable to find one. Thanks for your help. |

I can't provide much info, but I do have a turbo bay turbo here that I will probably be installing some time this spring/early summer, will report back at that time.

Will keep an eye out for sure - hopefully others have already taken the plunge since I'd like to upgrade myself on about the same schedule.

Turbobay performance is in Port Charlotte FL .. I noticed you live in the Cape.. I live in Punta Gorda and I have one from him I'm waiting to here back from Redline Motorsports in Lauderdale to have everything put on my Camaro and dyno tune it. Matt dose awesome work if you go on his site with the picture of the one of turbos with the Forge waste gate that was mine that he built for me..

Dude, I know you're on the other forum. People have been running this turbo for YEARS over there.

Oh, and honestly, you can build your own upgraded turbo for MUCH less than turbobay is asking. The wheels are around $100 each from Kinugawa, then you need a $60 rebuild kit and a balance. You could put this together yourself, minus the balancing, for less than $300.

Redline Motorsports has been tuning LTG engines since 2013 with the ATS.. I'm sure they are capable of doing the dyno tune.. but I will let you know how things work out..

Is that the guy I had mentioned before that posts under lt1350z or something similar on Cadillac forum? If so, he also knows his shit about the turbobay turbo.

don't waste your money on a stock frame turbo. Buy the zzp zfr bolt on turbo.

I don't think anyone over at CF has built their own turbo. They have gone with the upgraded units from either Pfadt (out of business), Vermont Tuning (significantly over priced), and TurboBay. You also might want to contact Turbo Labs of America. It's a solo operation, so it can take a while to get a reply, but he generally has the BEST prices I've seen when looking for upgraded turbos for my BMW 550i.
