I dunno about the V8s, but in the V6 section there is definitely a difference based on mufflers and even the type of x-pipe that is being used.

It's one of the hardest things to determine. What exhaust set-up to get.

Too loud, too soft, too raspy, too deep, is it throaty enough, does 3" sound better than 2.5 and on and on and on.

AND THAT's JUST FOR ONE TYPE. Different companies, mufflers for each and so on. Cammed, not cammed, all kinds of different ones.

So many exhaust possibilities and only the limited YouTube videos to go by. Helpful? Not really. A bit I guess gut the audio on a youtube vid through speaker a thousand miles away just doesn't help enough.

So many different combinations to choose from.

I have had a number of people I tried to help but was afraid to advise them throughout the purchase. Just didn't want to be responsible in any way for their remorse if they were unhappy with it. And I know guys and gals who have been in that category.

.
.
.

OK

I said all of that to say this.

I'm just gauging if any of you would be willing at the fest just for an hour or so to line your modded cars up so people could sample your exhausts? Where better than a place with 500+ Camaros? LOL

I'd get a list from the different members and the different set-ups and line them up and label them as such so people could get a sample of what each sounds like.

Best time to do it would be in an area of the parking (lot if there is room) in the evening because a lot of potential sample cars will be racing.

Might not be a great idea so I am just gauging if anyone would be willing and if anyone thinks it could help those who are looking. If there is enough interest I'd coordinate the different cars to line up for a sampling. Owners would have to be willing to come out for an hour or so. Don't have to run the car the whole time but be willing to start it up a number of times.

Any interest at all in an exhaust line-up???

Whats to decide? Open long tube headers dumping under the seat...

Good luck with the SSR. Hope it works out well.

If all goes well we could just have a vendor do it. I just don't want any tricks or favoritism with any certain system. And no sales pitches for pressure. Just simply "Here is what these systems sound like so when you're ready to buy you know what they are."

And some vendors are total assholes.

Also, there are different sounds to me, idle and revving while in park, listening to it at speed while inside the Camaro with windows up and down. Then listening to it as others hear it when you blow by them at highway speeds.

So I am not sure this idea will work, but to each there own. Good Luck.
You could be right. We'll see. Obviously some will be willing to set up a test ride at a later time for a person or persons interested. Some might not. But just being able to ask the owner all of those questions is helpful. One mans drone is another mans music.

This is a tough one cause I think engine mods also come into play a little for guys and gals looking at just exhaust. But I am sure with this many camaros around you will hear it all. Also listen at the drags and if you hear something you like ask them

My set up will be
Whipple sc, long tube ARH, rotofab CAI, magna flow cat back center port exhaust

To caveat, why not something like a "Rev Zone" as well like at F Body? No burn outs, just a dedicated "drive by" area and a 4k rev.
Good idea. And if they here something they could pin them down and ask and hear more.

I'll start a poll at some point to see what is the best way to do this. Plus get together with the mods to make sure we can slide it in smoothly with everything else.

There really is not race schedule by driver but you could ask the car owner when and if he will be going out.

Hey, cut-outs are always fun. And an option for everyone.

All part of the reason to do this. Someone might want to make it a point to get that exact set-up.

We'll have to make sure we have it well posted as far as equipment.

I've seen a couple cars with them. LOVE them. I'd want to open them up when I see a little 'Two Tone' pos ricer coming up at the red light.

cooincidentaly the two cars I've seen them on are both RJT cars from here in Alabama.

I forgot about that! Cutouts like John's are pretty cool cause you can vary the opening. From loud to holy crap real fast.
