Pulling the fuse to keep the Exhaust valves CLOSED

Most of the chatter on here has been about keeping the car loud.
I was booted from the track last season for the car being too loud with just headers and stock exhaust.

Car is an 18' 1LE with a heartbeat supercharger setup (TVS 2300) pushing high 600s to the wheels.
The reason I state this is that it lost about 30whp just going from the corsa exhaust to the stock exhaust. With the butterflies closed I'm worried about creating too much backpressure. I've seen thin wall racing mufflers essentially explode before. The stock exhaust isn't thin wall, but you get what I mean.

I don't mind the car being down on some power, it has way more then enough for the track as is. I just don't want to damage anything.

Which fuse is it again btw?

Thanks guys

Pulling fuse = NPP open, not closed, aka louder

Figured pulling the fuse would just keep them in whatever state they were in when you pulled the fuse.

Ok if that doesn't work, how do I just generally keep them closed??

GM warns to NOT keep the NPP in tour or stealth when you're actively racing.

There was a user who made a post about their stock exhaust exploding because it was closed and they were on a road course.

The one you're looking for is #51 in the engine bay fuse box.

I don't think you can force the valves closed at all times without a tune, pulling the fuse will keep them in their default state, which is open.

That said, I do recall seeing an option in the tune to change the default state, which is interesting, because I thought the valves had a spring-loaded mechanical part that pulls them back to opened. I don't know how a "closed" default setting could be maintained without constant power.

EDIT: there it is. Maybe I was wrong about the mechanics of the valve assembly.

You really need a turn down at exhaust tip to direct sound "down" to break it up and not carry as much.

As other said, closed valve = poor flow and possible damage to other exhaust components.

This is the first I've heard of Corsa adding 30 bhp. Did you dyno the car with and without Corsa? I would order a Corsa cat-back tomorrow if it would add 30 hp.

I don't see that option being available FYI in HP Tuners latest beta with my ZL1

I believe this thread should help the OP.

https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=585360

TL/DR: As Vigilante375 said above, don't do it at the track.

You should be able to go into the infotainment and set the exhaust to "stealth" mode and that will keep the valves closed under all conditions but you are not suppose to race the car that way.

It seems like your best option is a quieter aftermarket exhaust. In no case would I force the valves closed at the track, See pic above.

It will not keep them closed after certain RPM when you are WOT

-Make some Laguna pipes for the Corsa
-Make some Laguna pipes for the NPP
-People won't like my redneck engineering I did to pass sound at NCM last year. I knew I would be borderline with a supercharged SS with primary cat deletes so i removed the actuators and drilled holes in the bracket to the valve in 2 positions. When i blew sound at the track i dropped the muffler and put self tapping screws into the holes i drilled to keep the valves partially closed. This does not force full stealth mode and the heat issue you see above, but it forced enough flow through the muffler that I had no issues the rest of the weekend.

ZL1 must be different then. On the SS stealth(snow/ice) is closed under all conditions. The entire Stealth mode MAP is set to 100 which is closed.
