You'll end up hating the car. Everytime I try to get wild n/a I regret it and end up wishing I'd supercharged. If money isn't a concern and you just want a show/strip car, go for it. If it's going to be driven daily save yourself the headache and sc it.

If you plan on making this nothing but a NA car King makes a good point on raising the compression as well. I chose to stay around the stock compression because I plan on adding a Procharger later on down the road.

I really appreciate this input. Very helpful. For my needs, it’s not about daily driving. I always have a race car I put up with on the street. It’s just more fun for me this way and I’m competitive at the track (time attack). Never really thought about a Camaro for my type of circuit track racing, but that’s kind of the point. Something different with a glorious V8. Been doing 700whp rice box (EVO). Time for a change. On a budget this time. Trying to not to build from scratch, but I can’t find anything done already. The cost of my project is an issue when I learn heads cost $4500. Oh my! That kind of talk limits me pretty quick.
I did find 1SS 1LE with a whipple SC. ?? No records of work done. 27,000 miles. Anyone know this car? The ‘17 1LE’s with low miles are $37-40k. Kind of surprising.

Agreed. Dealers are the worst right now. I bet I have called 3 dealers today and nobody knows anything about a 1LE, the history, or anything. It’s brutal. 3 dealerships phone systems didn’t work or kept disconnecting me. The chat function was a 30 minute process to send my contact info to and never get any call or info back in return. I finally started asking for managers. One place has a 2018 1LE for 51,000. I got ahold of sales person finally and asked how much gold was in the trunk? When I pointed out I could buy a 2021, she said they just got that in and wait for the automatic computer to lower price if it doesn’t sell. I was like.....money in hand now and you won’t deal at current market values? She said no, it’s all the computer. Two dealers said the 1LE’s I inquired about had different wheels. Nope! Those are the 1LE wheels. So frustrating.
The whipple charged car has no list of mods or work history. The guy actually said it has a whipple. I asked about anything else and he said no, he sells these cars all the time and it’s bad ass with 800hp. Can u send me the dyno? No, I don’t do dyno’s he said but you can come drive it. I was like....who buys this kind of car with no info? How do you know it has 800hp? He said it just sounds like it. Hahaha! Amazing. Very unimpressed with the new & used sales people these days. Clueless!

I’m at 550 without heads, rotating assy, and stock fuel and ignition system. Granted that’s on e85. But yes. I would say 600 wheel hp is achievable. I’m also at 7000ft elevation.

Not in Texas. Do you live in Colorado or New Mexico?

Damn, an even lower DA than Denver. Well, the good news is your Dynojet will correct your HP back to sea level.

Although impractical it would be better if we all had engine dyno results instead of chassis dyno results. Of course all of my past race engines from Reher, Sonny, Kaase, TRE, Nickens, etc. were engine dyno'd. This is the first car that I've had chassis dyno'd in almost 20 years. My recent GTRs were remote tuned.
