Subs are so quiet! HELP!
Today i installed my subs and amp in my 2010 Camaro 2LT with RS Package. But something isn't right...
My system: 2 12" Kicker L7's 1500W Audiopipe Class D Mono amp I followed a guide on this website when i hooked them up. I have a LOC wired into my rear speakers. The subs hit but they are super quiet. One strange thing that is going on is that when i only have 1 RCA plugged in they do hit a little bit harder, not significantly harder though. I know these subs hit hard, i had them in my eclipse for over a year before i bought my camaro. They would flex the entire car if i wanted them to. If there is anyone that could help, it'd be much appreciated! Thank you! Last edited by Qdog; 12-26-2014 at 09:41 AM. |

check the knobs on the amp. make sure you gain is up enough. also why are you using a LOC? it would sound so much better if you got the sub thump harness. maybe thats why

suspect signal loss, personally don't care for LOC. Get an AM deck w/ high voltage RCA pre-outs.

On a 2LT, you have the BA system with an amp located in the left rear of the Camaro. Using Sub Thump's FARK harness to get line level signals going to the factory amp works much better than using a LOC on the rear speakers....you would feed these signals directly to you sub amp's low level inputs. Should get plenty of sub volume this way. |

Basically since you tapped into the rear speaker feed the sub feed is going off the rear speaker signal, you will need to adjust your fade from the front to rear in order to increase the singal to the amp, I can almost promise you changing the fade from front to rear will totally increase the bass, shouldn't have done LOC tap, you need the Pac GM harness for the mylink system.

I tried to fade the signal to the rear it made it a little louder. All my nobs on my amp are set correctly. i looked at the ******** wiring harness but i wasn't sure about it cuz its a 4 channel. i only have 2 rca jacks to hook up but it have 4 ports on it.

If you are using our harness then you should have plenty signal strength for it to get loud. You only need to use one set of jacks. The other set can remain unused. To me, it sounds like you may have one sub running out of phase to the other. This can cause a pair of subs to seem 'quiet' like you described.
