Yes I raced him before I installed the roto fab intake at the time so we can see if the roto fab intake makes a difference.

Once you lean on the tune and are able to actually make use of the increased intake airflow, then you will see the power benefit. Most guys also install the RF and dont disconnect the battery for a while before they start it with the RF on there. The car is going to flip out with the fuel trims trying to compensate for the extra airflow its seeing. You need to clear those LTFTs by pulling the battery when you are installing a RF intake. Let all the adaptives clear and when the install is done, reconnect the battery and drive it like you stole it. The car should feel crispier.
Thing is....does the intake REALLY make that much of a difference or is the tune?

As in, if you take 1 ZL1 with a rotofab and a tune then a ZL1 with only a tune....would the ZL1 with the rotofab and tune be THAT much faster than the tune only ZL1? I'll say no.

So I did a stock zl1 with a tune (from livernois motorsports), tested a 60-130 draggy, did roughly 8 or so within two days and took the best time. Then put a Corsa CAI and dropped 8 tenths off my 60-130 from the best time. I only did 2 pulls with the CAI and they were almost identical. Same fuel load as when I did the stock runs, 1/2 tank. Roughly same weather

You're saying you gained .8 seconds over a tune only with a CAI and no retune? That's like an extra 75rwhp or more....I find it hard to believe but you are telling us what you saw.

Aren't stock ZL1 60 - 130 in the high 8s to low 9s range?

Clearly the answer is that the 2023's makes at least 50 more horsepower than previous years. Now we can let this thread die because logic left the building long ago.

I wonder why my 2022 beat the Snot out of a 2023 from a roll and dig?
Personally I think the 2023 is slow

Probably the 2023 was still doing break-in rpm limits.

2023 ZL1s are in the same hp/tq range +/- as all other ZL1s
