With the new fuel system up and rocking, it was time to test it out and hopefully add some E85 to the equation! So I loaded it up onto my trailer behind my new daily driver, my 2021 Ford Expedition Limited. The 3.5L twin turbo pulls amazingly for such a small motor! Again, no drama towing the beast around.

We re-establish the baseline with an 837 WHP run on 93 only. Not bad! I then added some E85 which eventually settled on E52 in the car where we ended up at 906 WHP! I wish I had more E with me as I would have tried it. Link to one of the pulls: https://photos.app.goo.gl/Eu8dV1R2HWFqKA6x8

So 906 is pretty damn good but I decide to keep tinkering. I'm determined to fit a 112mm TB even though the bolt pattern isn't remotely close. I find an adapter to fit the 112 to an LT5 2650, so I buy it. Of course it doesn't work, but my brother's friend owns a machine shop. It takes him hours to get the math right and to get it set up perfectly in his equipment, as one screw up would put the cutting bit into the bore, that's how close it is... Long story short, he gets it right and I get the 112 fitted up!

I also decide to go last ditch effort on the blower pulley, going with a 2.65". Another trip to Performance Dyno, and we are rewarded with a 927 WHP pull. But honestly, the car isn't happy. The blower pulley is so aggressive, i pick up 90 ft/lbs of torque in the midrange and we have trouble getting the HPFP to keep up in the midrange where peak torque is. And when you already cannot hook up, adding 90 ft/lbs more isn't helping. And at the end of the day, I'm still making the exact same 14.7 psi of boost the 3.00 pulley made up top... and my IATs were now going up 20 degrees on a pull instead of 5-10... no good! So I went home and put the 3.00 pulley back on. While I lost the banshee-level blower scream, the car is simply more driveable and the fueling happier.

So back home I decide to get the garage another upgrade, this time 18' worth of garage cabinets! The wife's Alfa Romeo is parked inside these days too.

With the blessing of my local tuner, I start working with an LT tuning expert to help me continue to get the beast dialed in. We find that by carefully raising the engine RPM, we can actually make more power than the super-aggressive pulley was doing at a lower engine RPM! Latest engine logs show 1120 HP at the crank... wowzers!

So, nearly a year after buying them, it's time to get the dragpack a workout! I finally get them mounted up and retorque the beadlock flange for what seems like the 374th time... the flange takes quite a while to get all of the bolts to exactly 12 ft/lbs. But I get them mounted up and it's a completely different look for the car. I like it!

I get it loaded back up again and head to my "local" track. Unfortunately it's 37 degrees that morning... the track is cold. And to make matters worse I butcher the first burnout and spin badly, so the first run is garbage. The next time I do a great burnout, stage in 2nd gear, and hit it. It hooks! I know its a good run, but I'm afraid of getting tossed after one good run, so I let off at the 1000' mark... and *still* run a 9.93! The next run I spin again, but decide to finish the run... when I get to the end, they refuse to give me my timeslip until they could "talk" to me. Apparently they don't want people running 143 MPH without a full roll cage... I decide to leave rather than fight with them. I sign up for a private track rental on 11/14 in Maryland (Brandon Hills event) and will go let it all hang out!!! I think a very deep 9 is a very real possibility, provided my driving skills keep up (and not screw up the burnouts).

Edit: 9.65 @ 146 is the best run of the day. Well worth the trip to go to a friendly track with great prep.

AWESOME stuff!!! I can't wait to see the results of the private rental. It's interesting they don't seem to care about the cage, but whatever! LOL

SWEET build!!!

Thanks @radz28! It's been interesting, to say the least! This fuel system stuff is insane and I can see why the Mustang is so popular. Having port injection out of the box would have saved me so much headache and money. I could buy a nice car for what I have into the fuel system alone... Thanks for following along.

Tracks like that you just run 1/8 mile to get the front half figured out then send it out the back on the last pass and leave.

Sage advice! That will be the plan next time I go there for sure.

Thanks Tim! I’m not on Facebook at all and feel like the forums do a better job of making info accessible anyway. Appreciate you checking out this thread.

Do you have one of it warmed up and the idle settled down? Just curious to hear how much chop it has. I have had my eye on the CM 224/240 118. Thx

Dang. That's a nice cam. I thought my Stage IV BTR LS3 cam for my H2 was big (that was an NA 408). I think CSP's Big Boy cam is around that duration. That's pretty cool!!! If I didn't live where I do, I'd do a combination similar to yours.
