Yep! And the same difference between somebody pushing a 4 cylinder model on a track and a ZL1 being driven on a street (as most of them are ).

Yes replacing the rear hub/bearing assembly was a lot of work. Most of it was not difficult but it was very time consuming doing it for the first time. Probably should have taken it to a shop but I always like to try stuff myself for the learning experience and ability to potentially fix the same thing between sessions or days at a track on my own in the future if needed.

I would love to see a time lapse video of this if you do another one in the future. Are you a mechanic with air tools, a lift, and a massive perfectly organized tool chest? 1 hour was nowhere close to enough time for me to do it on jackstands especially if you cleaned threads and applied red threadlocker to the 2 caliper bolts and 3 hub bolts, jacked up below the spring perch so the hub was at normal ride height, and looked up then applied the correct torque or torque + angle on the 11 fasteners that were involved for me plus properly torquing the lug nuts at the end. It will be faster if I do the other side but still not close to 1 hour. Also several of the link bolts are torque to yield and should be replaced according to the ACDelco TDS shop manual. |

cdrptrks: Kent Moore or OTC or equivalent of J-45859, CH-49400, DT-45859, or DT-50188. I'm sure other ones will work. Works on FWD half-shafts as well. Goes over the wheel studs. Put some anti-seize on the bolt threads to keep from galling as you drive the bolt to push the half-shaft inboard to unmate the splines.

These are the parts I ordered for my bad rear hub about a year ago but the hub part number changed since then (see below).
Part Number Part Name Price Quantity Total 13512894 Hub & Bearing $83.17 11612295 Axle Nut $7.45 11611965 Axle Assembly Washer $2.90 EDIT: 13542186 is the replacement for all of these old part numbers according to this website: 23216846, 13591193, 13509912, 13512894 Summit also lists 13542186 as a replacement part for 13512894. Small update: I reused the rear link bolts almost a year ago and marked them after applying the correct torque or torque + angle values and none of them have loosened or failed after about 12 more track days but it would probably still be a good idea to replace them as recommend in the shop manual anyways.

Wheel Bearing HUB Assembly
Well after over TWO years of subjecting my front wheel bearings to some pretty intense heat while tracking I thought it was time to replace them. I know there was some discussion at one time that the ZL1 1LE had upgraded wheel bearings in the front hub assemblies.
I got a couple of takeoffs from very low mile ZL1 1LE. The part number on these was 13512895 which actually was the same as what was on my car from the factory (2019 SS). So that confirms what others are saying in that it looks like they used the same bearing assembly with all the camaro models. It had SKF stamped on the hub assembly as well. I also replaced all the wheel studs with ARP-100-7736 which are roughly 1/2 inch longer than stock.
