If you cut out the hood on a zl1 in the shape of the blower and remove the plastic standoff 1 inch will fit. Otherwise about 5/8 to 3/4
I think I have a plastic half inch and a aluminum 3/4 I'm using the 5/8 it seems to fit under the lpe insert. Which I'm about to make aswell. On a ss I'm not sure the room but my wife runs a 2300 edelbrock and the oem strut braces so probably a lot more room.

I have the VFN Sunoco max clearance hood on there all kinds of room under it. I'm still in break in mod as we just rebuilt the engine so I'm willing to try a couple different thickness to see witch one work best
