I have a rotofab, and when I installed mine, I took out the filter. You can reach you hand into the the factory air channel through the rotofab box and feel around the edges where the velossa tech and factory intake channel meet and feel if you have a good seal.

I am not measuring anything yet. No MPH gains here so far, but the scoop may not be seated. And I am not logging yet. I got my biggest gains fooling around with my shift light RPMs. 2 MPH so far! 114 to 116.

Thanks Booher, I will pull the RF box out and have a look. But until I take the bumper cover off I cannot see how the scoop is setting under the headlight. I can see the scoop is slighty facing downward. I will try to get a pic. I can see how the plastic stuff I took off was slowing down the air. With all the attention Chevy paid to the LT1 engine you would think GM would address this.

Hey I'm still number 2 on the 5th gen 1LE BOLTON fast list.

On the 5th gens we used to carve out a piece of the front plastic trim and bolton a little scoop behind it. We didn't have to take the bumper cover off. We got a clear 5 rwhp for this little project. That and the CAI CAI was the hot setup. I was running 13.2s with my M6 SS stock. With a couple hours of work with DRs, the CAI, and scoop I was running 12.7-8s in +1000 air.

Hey I am still #2 on the bolton 1LE Camaro5 Fast list. How is that possible?

You're obviously a good driver but I would venture to say the list isn't updated as often as it could be and like the 6th gen list it might not be very current due to most people posting on FB not forum fast lists anymore.

Had the front clip off for a new grill and decided to make my own air director.

I have one coming and will try first the radiator cover method rather than taking the bumper cover off. Although then I could look for a way to mount a tow hook. No Ram Air but hopefully lower IATs. They did give me a $30 discount to try an LT1 fitment, but it will not affect my review. I have no way to measure that, but wait maybe I do. I have a newer HPTuners brick. I guess I can record runs even though I do not have the tune open. But then I can't use my shift light.

I am also adding an LT2 IM to continue my M6 11 second quest with the seats in and no tune.
Hi Frazum, i just had my bumper off to remove the snow deflector on the driver side, same piece gorge removed. I also removed the bolt on crash bar and absorber material behind the front cover , took off about 13 lbs off the nose. Bumper comes off easy. I also moded my stock air box in a way that it now pulls air under the factory air inlet duct , and it leaves the factory inlet untouched. It will pull air from under the headlight and way down low in front of the wheel house. Nice cool fresh air down there. What MPH are you trapping and what gear and RPM .
