I just now finally got to diagnosing the car and it looks like the bundle of wires running along the frame rail on the passenger side of the engine compartment got burned up. Looks like this is going to be a fun repair. Hope it isn’t the same for you.

Well, I won't be doing headers.
But isn't there some kind of aluminum wrap you could use to shield the wires? Not sure how easy it is to get it where it needs to go. and shielding may not be enough depending on the heat.

Yes there are braided shields that people put on ignition wires. But there's so much other wiring in a modern engine bay. People report all sorts of hard to locate wire damage from headers.

The stock cast iron exhaust doesn't get as hot as headers, and still it has extensive heat shields bolted on.

i ended up selling the car. dealership had it 3 times and was totally incompetent in looking for a solution. they charged my battery and basically told me the tune is whats doing it. so i took it to their sales lot and sold it. White allen chevrolet in dayton ohio. DO NOT take your car there.
