Cloth Door Panels

Has anyone here taken the cloth off the door panels and repainted or some other media, along with the dash trim. I’m getting tired of the cloth and i want to make the interior a bit more appealing.

im not sure how good that would turn out if i did it myself.perhaps a good local auto upholstery shop could give you a few ideas though.if you are certain you want to tackle it yourself maybe a door panel from a wrecked car would be good to practice on first.

I took the cloth on the door panels and the cloth on the strips in the middle of the dash off and replaced the cloth with leather when I installed the Katzkin leather kit in my 2015 1SS. Patience and real good contact cement are key to doing something like that. They look real nice and weren't that hard to do. There are videos on Youtube of this. Hardest part is cutting the plastic "rivets" that holds the panels in the door....razor knife got my thumb for 7 stitches! Came home from Urgent care to finish the door panel....

Don't use a razor knife! Use a large drill bit and go slowly until the mushroom part is gone.
